We all get so busy with our lives, from taking care of our careers, our kids, our parents, and pretty much everything else, that we often forget to take time for ourselves. I love getting pampered at high-end luxury spas that have all the amenities that allow one to relax and decompress.
Wouldn’t it be great to have this luxury more often without the high price tag?
Well, you definitely can have a very relaxing experience if you build your own little home spa.
And you don’t have to rebuild your entire bathroom to achieve a little bit of luxury!
A luxurious home spa night can be a great way to relax and pamper yourself.
Here’s How to Create Your Own Home Spa Experience

Prepare Your Space
Clean your bathroom and bedroom, light some candles or an essential oil diffuser, play some soothing spa music, and make a refreshing drink or snack.
Treat Your Hair

Apply a nourishing hair mask to your dry or damp hair, and wrap it in a towel or a shower cap. Leave it on for about 20 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water and shampoo.
Steam Your Face
Fill a large bowl with hot water and add a few drops of your favorite essential oil. Lean over the bowl and cover your head with a towel. Breathe deeply and let the steam open your pores and hydrate your skin. Do this for about 10 minutes, then pat your face dry with a soft towel.
Exfoliate Your Body

I like to use a long-armed, dry brush to exfoliate all my dry skin. This will help to remove dead skin cells, improve blood circulation, and make your skin smoother and softer. It also helps with absorb essential oils which you can place in your bath or moisturizer you apply to your skin after showering.
Soak in a Bath

Fill your bathtub with warm water and add some bath salts, essential oils, or bombs. You can also add some flower petals, herbs, or citrus slices for extra aroma and beauty. Soak in the bath for as long as you like, and enjoy your drink or snack. You can also use a face mask, an eye mask, or a lip mask while you relax in the tub.
Use Essential Oils:

It’s amazing how a few drops of essential oils change the whole home spa experience. For more relaxing nights, use lavender. For a more invigorating experience, use spearmint, orange, tea tree oil, or peppermint.
Stay Hydrated

Dehydration causes fatigue. Spas usually serve water infused with citrus fruit such as oranges, pineapples, or cucumbers. You can fill up a carafe with fresh water and place fresh-cut fruits, cucumbers, mint, or basil, or make a refreshing mocktail. These refreshing drinks flush out toxins and keep you hydrated.
Moisturize Your Skin
After you get out of the bath, pat your skin dry with a soft towel and apply a moisturizer to your face and body. You can also use a hand mask and a foot mask to hydrate and soften your hands and feet while you soak in the tub.

Try to imagine the most peaceful, calm place you have ever been on this earth. Imagine you are there and slowly breath in and out. Imagine your breath slowly releasing all tension when you breathe in and then slowly breathe out. Over time, and with practice, you will become much better at controlling your stress levels with this technique. You can also learn more about meditation techniques here.
Restorative Yoga
I like to do Restorative yoga after my deeply relaxing bath. I’m able to reach a deeper state of mental relaxation because my body and muscles are relaxed. Restorative yoga involves long, deep stretches that allow the muscles, tendons, and ligaments to slowly stretch out. It’s made for relaxation and meditation.
Relax in Bed
I like to put on my silk pajamas, and eye mask, braid my hair, and use a silk pillow case for sleeping.
